A Portrait of Courage and Inspiration

I love a good story. I love stories of the human spirit. I'm holding a contest and the prize is a photo shoot of someone with a whole lot of courage. I want to be able to tell their story. If you know someone who has overcome the odds and demonstrated amazing courage or inspires you, nominate them for this contest. To nominate someone do the following:

1. Obtain their permission for a photoshoot and the opportunity for me to tell their story. I will also need to obtain the full model release to use the images. I will include in their photoshoot any other people or individuals if they are connected to their story.

2. Email me at jason@redeggstudios.com. If you have a picture send it to me. Describe this person and why their story inspires you. Make a connection and send a copy of your email to the nominee as well.

3. I need to be able to shoot them in the Salt Lake area within the next 30-60 days.

4. I will complete the photoshoot for the winner. I will photograph in a documentary style. Decisions regarding the session will be made by me. The photographic style of the session will be consistent with images seen on this blog as well as my website.

5. All entries due by May 1, 2009.

6. I will review the entries and make a decision. I expect the decision to be difficult. I definitely will not make everyone happy. I will post pictures of the winning entry on this blog. If your nominee doesn't get picked, I hope it was a worthwhile exercise for you and the nominee.

These are the only rules. I have purposefully left constraints for this contest vague so as to get a wide variety of contestants and not place any limitations on anyone's story.

The winner will receive one photoshoot with 7-12 fully edited digital lifestyle portrait negatives and 1 8 x 12 print of your choice. The nominee will receive copies of the same.

Feel free to share this post with friends that might be interested. Submit your a story to me and let me give you keepsake images of this person that you can treasure for a lifetime......

Newborn Photography Salt Lake City

Graham came home about a month ago and things have been a little topsy turvy since then. Coming home was an important family event. Someday when we look at his album of pictures we will talk about how important he is to us. We'll talk about how excited his sisters were to see him and hold him for the first time. We'll talk about how perfect everyone thought he was. We'll talk about his amazing grandparents and how they traveled to support our family and how proud they were. We'll talk about how loved he was right from the beginning.
